University of South Florida

Founded in 1956, the University of South Florida (Go Bulls) is now the fifth largest State school with a student population of 47,000.

Sitting on 1,700 acres near the Busch Gardens Tampa theme park in North Tampa, USF was historically a commuter school that in its original charter prohibited a big-time football program. That began to change in the 1990s and the Bulls finally fielded a football team that today plays in the Big East conference.

The school is well-known for Business and Marketing, Social Sciences, Biology, and Psychology.  It has maintained its original focus on research, and is ranked ninth in the world among universities for number of U.S. patents granted. It is one of the country’s top research centers in Alzheimer’s, Huntington’s and Parkinson’s diseases. It also houses the renowned Moffitt Cancer Center.

The strategic nature of universities in general is only amplified at USF where an international student population is just waiting for someone to befriend them and eventually share the Joy with them.

Are you interested in reaching the nations through international students? Are you interested in reaching commuter students and professors who live and work around the campus? The USF area needs a church.
